Anatomy Atlas Page
Help with anatomy questions please!?
I have a review guide for a test, and there’s one page that I cannot seem to get at all. I’ve looked through my notes, book, and even on the internet and can’t find anything. So my last hope is asking the questions on here. I know there’s a lot of questions but I’d appreciate it so much if you could help!!

I just checked your first of choices listed at this address off of the http://www.allexperts.com Encyclopedia address specifically at : http://en.allexperts.com/e/e/et/ethmoid_bulla.htm
–And got this partial definition that might help you :
“On the lateral wall of the middle meatus is a curved fissure, the hiatus semilunaris, limited below by the edge of the uncinate process of the ethmoid and above by an elevation named the bulla ethmoidalis; the middle ethmoidal cells are contained within this bulla and open on or near to it.
–The bulla ethmoidalis is caused by the bulging of the middle ethmoidal cells which open on or immediately above it, and the size of the bulla varies with that of its contained cells.”
>>UNDER ZYGOMATIC I got this description & at this address:
http://en.allexperts.com/e/z/zy/zygomatic_bone.htm
Zygomatic bone
“The zygomatic bone (malar bone) is a paired bone of the human skull. It articulates with the maxilla, the temporal bone, the sphenoid bone and the frontal bone. It forms part of the orbit and is commonly referred to as the cheekbone. It is situated at the upper and lateral part of the face: it forms the prominence of the cheek, part of the lateral wall and floor of the orbit, and parts of the temporal and infratemporal fossae [Fig. 1]. It presents a malar and a temporal surface; four processes, the frontosphenoidal, orbital, maxillary, and temporal; and four borders.”
>>THIS ENCYCLOPEDIA seems to be much more thourough than many I have viewed, hope this helps!

The Atlas of Anatomy $201.24 Anatomically correct We owe a great debt to Jean Baptiste Marc Bourgery (1797?1849) for his Atlas of Anatomy, which was not only a massive event in medical history, but also remains one of the most comprehensive and beautifully illustrated anatomical treatises ever published in any language. In 1830, having received his doctorate in medicine three years prior, Bourgery began work on his magnificent atlas in cooperation with illustrator Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782?1871), a student of the French painter Jacques Louis David. The first volumes were published the following year, but completion of the treatise required nearly two decades of dedication; Bourgery lived just long enough to finish his labor of love, but the last of the treatises eight volumes was not published in its entirety until five years after his death. The four parts of Bourgerys treatise cover descriptive anatomy, surgical anatomy and techniques (exploring in detail nearly all the major operations that were performed during the first half of the 19th century), general anatomy and embryology, and microscopic anatomy. Jacobs spectacular handcolored, lifesize lithographs are remarkable for their clarity, color, and aesthetic appeal, reflecting a combination of direct laboratory observation and illustrative research; the images are to this day unsurpassed in anatomical illustration. This reprint includes the complete color plates?726 in total?and will finally allow not only those in the medical field but also artists, students, and anyone interested in the study of the human body to appreciate this important historical work. Bovine Anatomy $160 This unique atlas on Bovine Anatomy combines the advantages of both topographical and systems based methods of anatomy. Each page of text faces a full page of realistic illustrations in colour. The topographical treatment of parts of the body is accompanied by illustrations of the bones, joints, muscles, organs, blood vessels, nerves, and lymph nodes of each part. Information tables on the muscles, lymph nodes, and peripheral nerves provide brief data referenced to the text. The illustrations were drawn from dissections especially prepared for that purpose, and instructions are given for the dissections. Particular attention is paid to the histology, growth, and function of the bovine hoof, based on extensive research. In addition to the gross anatomy of the udder, its development, histology, and function are described and illustrated. One chapter is devoted to the pathology, pathogenesis, and molecular biology of bovine spongiform encephalopathy, scrapie of sheep and goats, and chronic wasting disease of American deer and elk. |

Atlas of Functional Shoulder Anatomy $269 The anatomy of the shoulder is based on complex joint biomechanics, which guarantee the coexistence of both maximum mobility and stability within the same joint. In recent years, diagnostic techniques such as magnetic resonance and arthroscopy have made it possible to study and better interpret those fine anatomical structures which were formerly very difficult to appreciate through "open surgery" dissection techniques that would compromise their integrity. Difficulties of technical nature, which today have been overcome thanks to technology, delayed the use of endoscopy in shoulder treatment thus filling the gap previously existing if compared with other joints surgery (i.e., knee). Shoulder arthroscopy, exploiting anatomical integrity, has contributed with excellent results to the identification of those structures that have been given little descriptive importance in classical texts. The purpose of this Atlas is to focus the readera (TM)s attention on a series of bone, ligament, muscle and tendon structures and ultrastructures on which only the most recent international literature has reported in specialized journals. This Atlas also presents extremely high-definition images of "targeted" sections obtained from cadavers preserved using state-of-art techniques. This unique Atlas, making use of images of major visual impact, offers a scientific message on a topical joint, using simple but dedicated descriptive language. Among the various aims of this volume, the authors intend to present the shoulder anatomy in a new and original way and want to help the reader to understand the complexity of scientific research, highlightening the importance of the integration ofanatomical, biomechanical, and neurophysiological knowledge. The text is intended to complete the most recent and current anatomical studies of scientific research, enhancing those minimal structures to which a precise and clear mechanical and neurological role is now being attributed. |
