Antique Medical Nursing

Can the State consider my antique car for assets in case I go into a nursing home?

When my Husband passed away unexpectedly 3 years ago, I put the house we own also in the names of our children so if there is ever any major medical issues, the state can not take the house for equity.

I also own a antique car, that is valued as an antique at $40, 000. According to DMV the car is worth $300. My question is should I also put the car in one of my children’s names so the state could never try to take it in case I have to go into a nursing home?

I would. Yes, they would consider it an asset and this is probably something your husband would want your kids to have.
