where can i find info on civik war glass grenades ,?

I recently found what I believe to be a Civil War Grenade . It is a hand blown ball about 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter with a very noticeablee pontil , it was found near the Battle site ofAntietam.

You may have found an antique hand blown glass spere known as a Witch ball or Gazing ball. A witch ball or Gazing ball is a hollow sphere of blown glass that was made to ward off evil spirits, witch’s spells or ill fortune, though the Witch’s Ball actually originated among cultures where witches were considered a blessing and these witches would usually “enchant” the balls to enhance their potency against evils. Later, they were often posted on top of a vase or suspended by a cord (as from the mantelpiece or rafters) for a decorative effect. Witch balls appeared in America in the 19th century and are often found in gardens. Its size ranges from 2 to 22 inches in diameter, with the most popular gazing ball being about 12 inches.
