Brown spots growing on glass and plastic plants in aquarium?

It is beginning to take over!! What could the brown spots be?? How can I get rid of them?

It’s probably just brown algae which is primarily caused by excess nutrients. Regular water changes of 25% once a week with a gravel siphon will help reduce the algae and you can just wipe it off the glass/decor and it will go away.

*edit*- I would not add plecostomus(Pleco) or several otocinclus as a way of getting rid of algae because they might not be compatible with your fish, a Pleco can grow over 18 in. and will need a 55 gallon tank, and to keep them properly your going to need to give them a more varied diet than just brown algae.
