Can 100 ml of chloroform solution be dangerous or lethal?

My 19-year-old daughter has a small bottle of chloroform solution (100ml) in her room which she uses for melting Plexiglas (for making guitars and radios).
I told her I didn’t like it that she had such dangerous chemicals in her room and that I’d rather she’d give it to me for safe keeping.
When I told her that, she laughed at me and said that 100ml would never be enough to kill or injure someone.
Is this true? Is 100ml a “safe dosage” or would she be able to harm herself with that amount?

Edit: I also asked her to wear a mask when using the stuff. But she said I was exagerating and that a few drops coludn’t be harmful. But I am just worried she might tip over the bottle. Can an inhalation dosage of 100 ml be dangerous?

Is there anything I can get to use if an accident would ever accur? Is there anything to “neutralize”the effects of chloroform?

Chloroform is an extremely volatile liquid and a person can be poisoned by chloroform by inhaling its fumes. In addition, chloroform can be absorbed through the skin and leaves a burning sensation.
Advice: Store and work in well-ventilated places (air-conditioned room is not well-ventilated). Wear gloves to prevent skin contact.

Many people do not know how dangerous these solvents are as their hazards cannot be seen. The danger of chloroform is illustrated when a chloroform-soaked hankerchief placed over the nose and mouth, can be used to knock out anyone. Long term exposure can lead to cancer and damages to reproductive systems.

100 mL of chloroform when kept properly and handled with care is fine. Adult supervision is recommended, but since your daughter is already 19 years old, so erm… it’s up to you..

Chloroform

Chloroform is a clear colourless volatile liquid with a pleasant etheric odour. Itis mainly used in the production of chlorodifluoromethane (HCFC-22) which is used (in decreasing quantities) as a refrigerant and (increasingly) as a fluoropolymer feedstock. Chloroform may be released into the environment from HCFC-22 plant and from pulp and paper mills using chlorine-based chemicals for bleaching and disinfection purposes. It is estimated that about 90% of total chloroform emissions into the environment are natural in origin. Chloroform is also the principal by-product of water disinfectant processes such as chlorine-chloramine chlorine-chlorine and ozone-chlorine treatment. Levels vary widely depending upon concentrations of organic materials in the raw water and are also influenced by treatment method temperature and pH. This book evaluates the risk to human health and the environment posed by exposures to chloroform. Human data on its toxicity are limited but the liver is a key target organ in laboratory animals and likely to be so in humans.
