Can my Female cat Nurse these kittens?
Alright,About a week ago someone dumped these two kittens on my front patio. and As me i always wanted a kitten so i took them. So i have been feeding them wet canned cat food (Since i dont have a bottle feeder). anyways they have been here about a week and all of a sudden,My Tortoiseshell-Cat (Female) Starts carrying the kittens by their neck and letting them nurse off her?
What im thinking is Can she prouduce milK??? She hasent had a litter of kittens in over 3 years??
P.S the kittens are about 6 weeks old
First of all, you have a nice mama kitty there 
She has a good nature about her I do not think that she will produce milk for the kittens. However I think it is probably a good thing that the kittens are getting the action of nursing. If they are taken from there mother too soon they sometimes have personality problems as they age. I would let them do what is natural to them.
Second wet cat food is a bad idea. At six weeks they should be able to eat dry kitten food. Get the best dry KITTEN food you can afford feed them that only. If they are to small to eat that than add some warm water and let them eat it that way. You could also get some powderd kitten milk to sprinkle over it.
